Insists on strict safety standards Air Peace has said it deboarded a passenger identified as Mr. Christopher Aniagboso from its Lagos-Owerri flight to guarantee the safety of its crew and customers. In a statement issued by Air Peace Corporate Communications Manager, Mr. Chris Iwarah, the carrier insisted that conducts with the potential of jeopardising the safety of its passengers and crew were not welcome on any of its flights. Turkish Airlines to open lounge at new  Istanbul Airport  Turkish Airlines said it has concluded plans to open five passenger lounges at its new airport in Istanbul. According to Turkish Airlines General Manager for Lagos, Mr. Yunus Ozbek, the lounges will be  available for Business Class, Miles & Smiles Elite Plus & Elite, Star Alliance Gold and Corporate Club passengers. Before the proposed lounges, the airline had  three lounges -  Business Lounge; Miles & Smiles Lounge and Domestic Lounge. But, the carrier according to Ozbek plans to open the  Exclusive Lounge and Arrival Lounge in the next few months. 'Approve intervention fund to speed up AIS automation ' ......Personnel calls on Sirika Aeronautical Information Management Association of Nigeria (AIMAN) has called called on government to approve special intervention fund to speed up the completion of aeronautical information services automation in order to ensure enhanced safety and efficiency in the Nigerian airspace and bring Nigeria at par with other countries. Besides speeding up automation, the association also decried the non training of their members on aeronautical information exchange model to understand the basic concept and technicalities involved. AIMAN President, Surveyor William George Ngerem disclosed this Wednesday in Lagos during the 2019 World AIS Day. Federal Government upgrades night facilities at Benin Airport  Federal  Government  at the weekend  upgraded navigational facilities at  Benin Airport  to enable airlines and aircraft owners  perform  flights at night and periods when there is  low visibility. The upgrade of facilities at Benin Airport followed  the installation of Precision Approach Lighting System and Instrument Landing System Category II, commissioned by the Minister of State for Aviation,  Hadi Sirika.
