......Personnel calls on Sirika

Aeronautical Information Management Association of Nigeria (AIMAN) has called called on government to approve special intervention fund to speed up the completion of aeronautical information services automation in order to ensure enhanced safety and efficiency in the Nigerian airspace and bring Nigeria at par with other countries.
Besides speeding up automation, the association also decried the non training of their members on aeronautical information exchange model to understand the basic concept and technicalities involved.
AIMAN President, Surveyor William George Ngerem disclosed this Wednesday in Lagos during the 2019 World AIS Day.
He said out of over 245 AIS personnel in Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), only 13 staff were trained on the Avitech software.
He said the agency ought to have trained not less than 200 personnel  in line with global requirements required to run the automation.
The association, however called on training of more AIS personnel towards the transition from AIS to Aeronautical Information Management to meet the required standards.
It called on the management of NCAA ,NAMA and Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) to consider the need to insure their personnel  as well as facilitate the full completion and commencement of National Health Insurance Scheme  programme.
