Experts to discuss role of policy in aviation investment





Experts and stakeholders in the aviation sector will gather in Lagos in July to examine what role policy could play in boosting the growth of the industry.
Meeting under the auspices of the 23 edition of the League of Airports and Aviation Correspondents 2019 Conference and Awards, the event will draw over 250  aviation industry professionals, cutting across aviation and security  agencies as well as airlines on the relationship between policy and industry development.
According to statement by the organising committee, Alhaji Muneer Bankole, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Med-View Airline has been selected as the Chairman of the event.
Bankole, who has confirmed attendance at the event said  resolutions reached at the conference in the past had helped to shape the industry.
The event,  is scheduled to hold on July 17, 2019 at Raddison Blu Hotel is with the theme: ‘Boosting Aviation Investment Through Policy.’
Besides, Hadi Sirika, the Minister of State for Aviation has been  selected as the Special Guest of Honour, while Chief Executive Officers of aviation agencies  as well as private service providers would also grace the occasion.
Others expected include:  Mr. Nick Fadugba, former Secretary General of African Airlines Association (AFRAA), Dr. Harold Demuren, former Director-General of Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and Mr. Babatunde Irukera, Director-General of Consumer Protection Council (CPC) amongst others.
Key stakeholders made up of individuals and corporate organisations who had distinguished themselves in the industry would also be honoured with various awards at the event..
Bankole , with over four decades industry experience joined the defunct national carrier, Nigeria Airways Limited in 1978 and was appointed as a Traffic/Ramp and Duty Manager . He was later appointed  Manager of the Airline at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
He later  rose to the position of District Manager and was  posted to Lome, Togo and other countries including Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.
