    FAAN set to rollout V- pass  facial recognition system at airports The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) is rolling out V-Pass, a biometric identity verification system designed to make domestic air travel faster, safer and more seamless. Its Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire said the authority  entered into   partnership with M/S Verxid Technologies Limited, to drive the  system that will  let passengers confirm their identities through facial recognition, reducing the need to rely on physical ID documents at airports. The roll out , Agbebire said  was reviewed during a strategic meeting between FAAN and Verxid Technologies Limited, where both sides discussed deployment plans, security measures and ways to improve the passenger experience.   Asaba incident: NCAA bans pilots from flying in Nigeria's airspace  The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has banned from flying in the Nigerian airspace, two pilots that commanded the Bombardier  Challenger aircraft that landed on the roadway at Issele Uku , near the Asaba Airport in Delta State. Its Director General, Captain Chris Najomo disclosed this on Wednesday, while speaking on efforts to ensure compliance with standards and regulatory requirements at the Aviation Business Summit and Expo in Lagos. Najomo expressed concerns that  as a pilot of over 45 years, it is disturbing that a pilot will mistake a roadway for an airport runway. He said what the pilot ought to have done, if he could not locate the runway , was  to make a turn around.  He said besides suspending the two pilots, with the foreign pilot sent to his country, relevant security agencies including the NCAA have continued with the in going investigation into the infraction. NAHCO conveyor belt vehicle hits Air Peace aircraft's engine at Lagos Airport .....Disrupts flight operations  Air Peace  has revealed how a baggage conveyor belt vehicle owned and operated by the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) caused significant damage to one of its Airbus 320 aircraft caused on ground at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 1 , Lagos ,crashing into the airplane's engine rendering it unserviceable. Air Peace explained that the unfortunate accident occurred , Tuesday July 14, 2026, shortly after the aircraft completed Flight P47427 from Kano and disembarkation of passengers. The airline according to a statement by its management said, the ground accident has occasioned severe disruptions in its flight operations, necessitating mitigating the disruption through fleet adjustments.
