 NSIB begins investigation on Kaduna  train accident  The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has commenced  investigation into a railway incident involving a passenger train operating on the Rigasa–Idu rail corridor.  Its Director, Public Affairs and Family Assistance,Mrs Funke Arowojobe disclosed this in a statement. NSIB investigators have commenced evidence gathering and analysis to determine the circumstances surrounding the occurrence. The investigation will examine technical, operational, and infrastructure factors, including train configuration, locomotive attachment systems, operational procedures, and relevant operational data.   FAAN AVSEC, OTHERS ARREST BANDITS AT AKURE AIRPORT The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) said  four suspected bandits were om Sunday. March 15, 2026  apprehended within the vicinity of Akure Airport, Ondo State, following a coordinated security operation involving aviation and local security agencies. The arrest followed a distress alert that suspicious individuals were sighted behind the airport perimeter towards the Eleyewo community. In response, security personnel comprising FAAN’s Aviation Security (AVSEC), the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), and other local security outfits immediately launched a joint search operation. During the operation, some individuals were seen attempting to flee the area. Four suspects were eventually apprehended by the joint security team and have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force Area Command for further interrogation. Military , AVSEC arrest four bandits at Akure Airport runway   Operatives of the Nigerian Army on Sunday arrested four bandits who invaded the airside of Akure Airport. According to sources the bandits entered the airport runway with the intent to cause havoc. Following the alarm raised staff of the airport on possible harm to their lives and the facility , a Save our Soul (SOS), was activated to the headquarters of FAAN  seeking the intervention of the Federal Government and the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development to secure the safety of personnel at the airport. According to an eye witness, the bandits were said to have pursued farmers from their farmland into the runway of Akure Airport and were seen by Air Traffic Controllers  inside the control tower who alerted security,  in particular, Aviation Security Personnel  and Air Force personnel combed the nearby forest leading to the arrest of four  of the bandits.   No passenger stranded , abandoned on Abuja - London flight, says Air Peace  Air Peace Management clarified yesterday that no passenger was either abandoned or stranded following the air return incident its aircraft experienced on the Abuja - London flight on March 13, 2026. The clarification by the carrier had become imperative following reports suggesting such in many reports in circulation. In a statement on Friday , Air Peace , said :" For the avoidance of doubt, no passenger was abandoned or left stranded at any point during the handling of the situation.   Air Peace explains air  return on Abuja - London flight  Air Peace on Saturday offered clarifications on the circumstances leading to its aircraft making an air return on its Abuja - London , Heathrow flight shortly after the aircraft departed Abuja. According to the airline management, the  aircraft safely returned to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, where it landed without incident. The statement said : " All passengers disembarked safely, and our engineering team is currently conducting the necessary technical inspections and checks on the aircraft. "Passengers affected by the disruption have been provided with hotel accommodation, while alternative travel arrangements are being coordinated to minimize the inconvenience experienced."
