  FAAN commits to implement service quality  The Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria FAAN, Mrs. Olubunmni Kuku, has vowed to implement priority initiatives focused on safety, security,  digital transformation, service quality and revenue generation. She made the promised during a meeting with the members of the Airline Operators of Nigeria, AON to discuss salient issues affecting the industry convened by FAAN. Mrs. Kuku expressed her desire to see FAAN become one of the top airport management companies in sub-Saharan Africa within the next decade, and emphasized the need for collaboration with AON to achieve this goal.  She also identified the need for frequent meetings, quicker response to AON correspondences, and further improvements on airport infrastructure.   Expert urges  Fed Govt  to declare emergency In telecom sector A media and communication expert , Dr. Uche Nworah has urged the federal government to declare a state of emergency in Nigeria's telecom sector to prevent its imminent collapse.  Nworah, who spent many years working in a major telecom company said   the sector faces numerous challenges, including: inability to invest in equipment and infrastructure due to high naira-to-dollar rates and stagnant data and voice call rates and  epileptic power supply. These challenges, he said is forcing telcos to rely on generators with unbearable diesel and petrol costs, staffing issues, alongside  brain drain and harassment by local communities and governments, excessive taxes and levies from local, state, and federal governments, trapped funds for foreign investors as they are unable to repatriate funds due to naira depreciation. Calls for  quick implementation of project The Managing director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs Olubunmi Kuku has emphasized the importance of air cargo to the development of any government and country. Kuku who made the declaration  during the meeting of FAAN management with the enlarged membership of the AviaCargo Roadmap committee in Lagos, called on the committee to provide her with a quicker schedule of the implementation of the committee for quick attention. According to the FAAN MD: “Give me a Quicker schedule of Implementation. Air Cargo is of Great importance to this Government. We want things done a little Faster”.
