 ROTARY CLUB OF PORT HARCOURT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT UNVEILS ₦48M PROJECT PORTFOLIO









The Rotary Club of Port Harcourt International Airport, the Gateway Club, District 9141, has opened a new chapter of purposeful leadership and service with the installation of its 2nd President, Rtn. Ngozi Vivienne Onyeanwuna, for the 2026–2027 Rotary Year.


The colourful ceremony, held on 26 September 2026 at Gate 5, International Terminal, Port Harcourt International Airport, began in spectacular fashion with a red-carpet moment, as guests trailblazed in the glitz and glamour of the occasion, setting the tone for an evening of elegance, fellowship and celebration.


The event witnessed the induction of the Board of Directors and nine new members, and brought together District 9141 leadership led by the Club’s Assistant Governor, AG Joy Madukanya, who represented the District Governor; the District Membership Chair, PAG Nkiru Enyia; members of the Club’s mother club, Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Rebisi Kingdom, led by its President, Rtn. Anita; 10X Presidents; Rotarians from across the District; FAAN staff; representatives of aviation agencies and airlines; airport protocol clients; stakeholders; and other distinguished guests.


Beyond the glamour and celebration, the occasion carried a deeper message—a renewed commitment to turning vision into action and service into measurable impact.


A major highlight of the evening was the presentation of awards to distinguished individuals in recognition of their leadership, professional excellence, mentorship and contributions to community development.


Awardees included chief Cletus Ibeto, OFR, Chairman/CEO, Ibeto Group, Distinguished Business Leadership & Community Impact Award, Mr Onochie Onyetenu,  Distinguished Public Affairs & Government Relations Leadership Award, Prof. Dr Humphrey Ugo, Award of Excellence in Public Health, Medical Leadership & Community Development


Others are, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, MD/CE, FAAN — Distinguished Aviation Leadership & Transformation Legacy Award, Mrs Lynda Ezike Ifesinachi, AM/RGM (SS), Port Harcourt International Airport, Distinguished Leadership & Community Impact Award


The Club also honoured distinguished Rotary leaders and members whose vision, mentorship and service have contributed significantly to the Club’s journey:
