AIR PEACE POLICE PETITION: ATSSSAN HALTS PICKETING TO RESOLVE DISPUTE
The leadership of the Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN) has directed that all aviation workers should stand down every action to allow the August 11,2026 picketing issue to be addressed appropriately.
This followed the outcome of the union's discussion with the Nigeria Police in Abuja Wednesday where they were appealed to by the police to maintain peace
A message of commendation by the general secretary of ATSSSAN, Comrade Frances Akinjole to members at the end of engagement declared "You are all commended for your sagacious resolute to stand for justice and stand well well solidarity. You are the true heroes and heroines of this struggle"
According to Akinjole, it was declared that every party may later be called together for discussion because the aviation industry is a strategic and sensitive sector that must be collectively protected.
He further stated, that it was ridiculous that the Air Peace petition accused the unions, FAAN, NCAA, the police airport command and almost everyone in the industry of one thing or the other.
ATSSSAN scribe stated that while there, they stated the version of the occurrence of August 11 from their own perspective and the Police promised to have similar interaction with every other persons/organisations that have things to say about the contents of the petition from the Air Peace lawyer, including the Air Peace itself.
