As part of it's humanitarian service and community development under the Basic Education and Literacy Project, the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt International Airport, has demonstrated its unwavering commitment by empowering some students of the airport communities with educational materials


The President of the Rotary Club,  Rtn Ngozi Onyeanwuna, led other Rotarians to the FAAN International School,Port Harcourt international airport for the presentation of school bags to pupils.


Rtn Onyeanwuna said it was in recognition of the importance of education as the foundation upon which brighter futures are built, adding that the Club invested in the dreams and aspirations of young learners by providing them with essential educational materials that will support their academic journey.


She disclosed that Rotary club was out to restore hope, provide opportunity and enduring commitment to transforming lives through service.


"As a strategically positioned Rotary Club within Nigeria's aviation community, the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt International Airport is uniquely placed to build meaningful partnerships that deliver sustainable, high-impact humanitarian projects"


Onyeanwuna explained that the Club remained committed to serving as a bridge between the aviation industry and the communities it serves, creating opportunities that positively impact lives and inspire lasting change.


"This project also reflects Rotary International's global mission of advancing education, promoting peace, fighting disease, protecting the environment, supporting economic development, and strengthening communities through selfless service. It is another clear demonstration that Service Above Self remains more than a motto—it is a way of life".


She extended  the club's heartfelt appreciation to the Management of Port Harcourt International Airport, represented Mr. Anthony Ukut, Deputy General Manager/Regional Head, Legal Services, for their invaluable support.


The club also commended the adviser, Rtn. Chris Ugechi, Supervising District Assistant, Rtn. Joy Madukanya and Chairman of the FAAN International School Board, Mr. Onyekachi Idu, Deputy General Manager/Head of Human Resources


It also appreciated the Head Teacher, teachers, parents, aviation stakeholders and other Rotarians, partners, and all that  made the impactful project a reality.


The president of the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt International Airport appealed to aviation agencies, corporate organizations, development partners, and well-meaning individuals to join them in expanding the frontiers of service to empower more children, strengthen more communities, and create sustainable solutions that leave lasting footprints for generations to come.


She assured of more presentations to schools to enable fulfill their dreams adding that they inspire hope, strengthened the future and reaffirmed commitments to creating lasting impact through education—one child, one community, and one act of service at a time.
