....As Airlines Prepares For Landmark Regional Expansion

West and Central Africa’s largest airline, Air Peace, has secured double recognition at the 9th National Tourism Transportation Summit & Expo (NTTSE) 2026, with the airline and its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Allen Onyema (CON), receiving prestigious awards for their contributions to aviation growth, regional connectivity and continental integration.

The honours were presented at the Gala Night of the summit, held at the prestigious Banquet Hall of NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja, just days ahead of Air Peace’s planned launch of new regional routes connecting Lagos with Bamako, Conakry, Douala and Libreville.

Air Peace received the Nigeria’s Largest Airline & Regional Expansion Leadership Award, while Dr Onyema was honoured with the Aviation Leadership & Continental Connectivity Award for his outstanding contributions to strengthening African aviation connectivity and fostering stronger trade and economic corridors across the continent.

The recognitions underscore the airline’s growing role in bridging connectivity gaps across Africa and advancing socio-economic integration through aviation. Through its expanding regional network, Air Peace continues to facilitate greater movement of people, tourism and trade while supporting the broader aspirations of a more interconnected African market.

Speaking on the recognition, Air Peace Spokesperson, Efeoghene Osifo-Whiskey, expressed appreciation to the organisers, describing the awards as a strong affirmation of the airline’s commitment to transforming the African aviation landscape through strategic connectivity and regional expansion.

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman’s Special Assistant on Communications, Ms Hawa Alege, said the recognition further reinforced Dr Onyema’s enduring vision of using aviation as a catalyst for African unity, economic growth and stronger connections between nations.

The latest honours add to Air Peace’s growing list of industry recognitions and come at a defining moment in the airline’s expansion story. Under Dr Onyema’s leadership, Air Peace has grown from a Nigerian domestic carrier into a major African airline with an expanding international footprint, driven by a vision to connect cities, open new economic corridors and make air travel more accessible.
