 Aeronautical Communications Officers urged to uphold  service excellence






Aeronautical Communications Officers across Nigerian airports have been admonished to continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, vigilance, and service excellence.


Alhaji Rabiu Mohammed Sani, President National Air Traffic Communicators Association of Nigeria (NACAN) who made this call during the graduation of the Aeronautical Mobile Service Course No. 8 (AMS-08) at the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria, commended Engr Umar Farouk for his visionary leadership and unwavering support, particularly in sponsoring various trainings in the agency


Sani, who was full of praises for the NAMA Boss disclosed that Farouk has not only approved all their local training programmes-AO-33, AO-34, ACO-45, ACO-46,

AMS-08, AMS-09, and CCM-but has also graciously settled all tuition fees in full.


"As I speak, the CCM course graduated a few weeks ago, AMS-08 is graduating today, 17th July, 2026, and in the coming weeks, ACO-45 will also be graduating. There has never been a time in the history of NAMA when the Aeronautical Communications

Department has enjoyed such unprecedented support and opportunities"


According to the NACAN president, earlier this year, Engr Farouk approved and sponsored 15 of their officers to undergo

international AMHS factory training at Indra Avitech, Germany for intensive and insightful training


He noted, that the NAMA boss has equally directed that they move swiftly toward the full deployment and operationalization

of the system in Nigeria adding that work has already commenced upon their return.


"I am also pleased to share that our Chief Executive has approved the provision of modern, high-performance communication radio equipment for all our stations.

Abuja and Kano have already received theirs, while other stations will be equipped in due course".


Sani also hinted that they will begin by establishing the MTA link between Lagos and Kano, followed by phased connectivity

to other local airports after which they will proceed to coordinate with neighbouring

Flight Information Regions including Niamey, Libreville, Brazzaville, N'Djamena, Accra,

Cotonou (Benin Republic), and Douala, among others.


Sani described the role of aeronautical communicators in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of air navigation

services as more critical than ever.


Sani congratulated the graduating students and urged them to put into practice the knowledge, skills, and professional values they have acquired during their training.


"I confidently describe the AMS-08 Class as an executive class, in recognition of your outstanding performance, discipline, and commitment throughout your stay at NCAT, Zaria"
