FORMER DCP. AHMED REMAINS THE AUTHENTIC APC CANDIDATE FOR GOMBE CENTRAL SENATORIAL DISTRICT - former Speaker 

A former Speaker of the Gombe State House and Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sadik Ibrahim Kurba, has stressed that the Mohamed Ahmadu, a retired Deputy Commissioner of Police remains the authentic candidate for Gombe Central Senatorial district of the All Progressives Party (APC)

According to the high ranking stakeholder, the emergence of DCP. Mohammed Ahmadu (Rtd.), popularly known as Jarman Deba, as the APC candidate for Gombe Central Senatorial District followed a process recognized by the party and conducted in accordance with established procedures.

This explanation followed a sponsored smear campaign against the candidate.

Speaking further, the former Speaker said prior 

 to the primary election, the APC in Gombe State initiated consultations aimed at producing consensus candidates across various positions. During this process, several aspirants for the Gombe Central Senatorial ticket voluntarily endorsed Jarman Deba. However, Senator Danjuma Goje chose not to accept the consensus arrangement and opted to participate in a direct primary election, a right available under the party's guidelines.

Consequently, a direct primary election was conducted, allowing eligible party members across the wards of the senatorial district to participate in the process.

At the conclusion of the exercise, Jarman Deba emerged victorious with a clear margin, defeating Senator Danjuma Goje. The result was officially announced by the committee constituted by the APC National Secretariat to oversee the primary election.

Therefore, the claim that Jarman Deba emerged solely through a disputed consensus process does not present the complete picture. The reality is that a direct primary election was eventually held, contested, and won.

Beyond politics, Jarman Deba's record of public service speaks for itself. During his distinguished career in the Nigeria Police Force, he served in various capacities across the country and contributed significantly to security operations and public safety initiatives.

His service record includes assignments in several states and participation in national security operations. Following his retirement, he continued contributing to security and public service through advisory and training roles.

It is equally important to note that references to past legal proceedings involving security operations must be presented with fairness and context. The fact remains that the courts delivered their judgment on the matter, and the principle of the rule of law requires that such judgments be respected.

Today, Jarman Deba remains focused on providing leadership, promoting development, supporting youth empowerment, improving educational opportunities, and strengthening the welfare of the people of Gombe Central.

The people of Gombe Central deserve a campaign based on issues, ideas, and performance rather than speculation and political distractions.

As the 2027 elections approach, we remain confident that the people will judge all candidates based on their records, contributions to society, and vision for the future.
