The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) recorded a momentous outing at the 15th edition of the Nigeria Aviation (NIGAV) Awards, held in Lagos on April 17, 2026, with its Managing Director/Chief Executive, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, emerging as the standout recipient of the prestigious Aviation Personality of the Year Award.

The honour bestowed on Mrs. Kuku underscores her exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and transformative contributions to Nigeria’s aviation sector. Her recognition at this national platform not only celebrates personal excellence but also reflects the renewed drive, innovation, and institutional progress being championed under her stewardship at FAAN.

In further testament to the Authority’s rising profile, FAAN secured multiple awards across critical operational and service domains, reinforcing its position as a leading force in the aviation industry.

Notably, the Director of Human Resources and Administration, Dr. Luqman Emiola, was also honoured for workforce improvement, in recognition of his impactful leadership in staff development and organisational capacity building—an achievement that aligns with the broader reform agenda of the Authority.

FAAN’s excellence resonated across its operational spectrum, with the Protocol Services Unit earning commendation for outstanding service delivery. Additionally, several airports under FAAN’s management received accolades for notable advancements in infrastructure, safety standards, and passenger facilitation.

Osubi Airport (Warri Airport, Delta State)

Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos

Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja

Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, Rivers State
