.....Offers Master’s Degree Scholarship to King, Queen of the Air

The African Aviation and Aerospace University has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing human capital development in Nigeria’s aviation sector as its Acting Vice Chancellor, Mustapha Sheikh Abdullahi, was honoured with the Aviation Academic Excellence Award while the institution chart award the Most Promising Training Institution Award at the 15th edition of the Nigerian Aviation (NIGAV) Awards and Ministerial Dinner held in Lagos.

In a remarkable demonstration of the University’s dedication to excellence and capacity building, Abdullahi announced the award of a fully funded Post Graduate,  Master’s degree (MSc) scholarship on behalf of the Governing Council to two exceptional cabin crew members—Adeyemi Adebote of Arik Air and Ubani Blossom of Ibom Air—who emerged as the King and Queen of the Air at the prestigious ceremony.

The scholarship initiative, according to the Acting Vice Chancellor, is designed to encourage professionalism, continuous learning, and career advancement among aviation personnel, particularly those in frontline roles who exemplify service excellence and industry best practices.

Abdullahi noted that the recognition of Adebote and Blossom reflects not only their personal dedication and outstanding performance but also the critical role cabin crew members play in shaping passenger experience and upholding safety standards within the aviation ecosystem.

“This scholarship is our modest contribution to promoting a culture of continuous education and professional development in the aviation sector. At AAAU, we believe that investing in people is central to building a globally competitive aviation industry,” he stated.

He further emphasized that the University remains committed to developing world-class aviation professionals through specialized training, research, and academic programmes tailored to meet the evolving needs of the industry.

The honour bestowed on the Acting Vice Chancellor at the NIGAV Awards underscores the growing recognition of AAAU’s role as a centre of excellence in aviation and aerospace education in Nigeria and beyond.

The Nigerian Aviation Awards, widely regarded as one of the most prestigious platforms for celebrating achievements in the aviation sector, brings together key stakeholders, industry leaders, and policymakers to recognize innovation, professionalism, and outstanding contributions to the growth of aviation in Nigeria.

The AAAU management congratulates the award recipients and reiterates its commitment to supporting initiatives that inspire excellence, foster innovation, and strengthen the capacity of Nigeria’s aviation workforce.
