Stakeholders To Discuss Aviation Hub Impact On GDP At ART Business Breakfast Meeting







Stakeholders in Nigeria’s aviation industry will assemble at Golfview Hotels & Suites, Ikeja, Lagos at the 2026 Quarter1 Business Breakfast Meeting (BBM) of Aviation Safety Round Table Initiative (ASRTI) on Thursday, March 26, 2026 to discuss how a hub status can boost Nigeria’s aviation sector and the possible input of aviation allied businesses in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth.


Theme of the event is “Boosting Aviation Sector Contribution to GDP: The Importance  Of An Aviation Hub.”


The Managing Director and Chief Executive of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku will deliver a lead paper at the meeting that will feature two panel discussion sessions.


Members of the panel include Mr. George Uriesi, CEO, Ibom Air Limited, Dr. Wale Babalakin, Chairman, Bicourtney Aviation Services Limited, Capt. Ado Sanusi, Managing Director, Aero, and Mr. Djamel Muradov, Air France/KLM.


Other industry leaders expected to feature on  the other panel session are Dr. Thomas Ogungbagbe, CEO, CITA Aviation Fuelling, Dr. Segun Musa, GMD, Widescope International Group, Motayo Williams, Director, Nigerbird Engineering Limited, Mr. Damilola Ogunseye, Chairman, International Airlines Operators Committee, Dr. Seinde Fademi, Chairman, NAHCO Plc and Chairman, LSG Skychef.


The Managing Directors of AVSATEL Communications and Dominion Air are also expected to be on the panel of the allied business segment.


Since inception of the quarterly Business Breakfast Meeting (BBM) in 2015, the BBMs have through advocacy, been impactful on industry improvements and leadership, airports development, airlines management and collaboration, agencies improvements, air safety and accident investigation, airspace administration, industry financing, infrastructure development, aircraft maintenance and corporate governance, aviation security, airports privatization, foreign airlines operations, passenger facilitation and customer satisfaction, industry regulation, the allied sector and other vital industry issues.


Aviation Safety Round Table Initiative (ASRTI) is Nigeria’s foremost not-for-profit group of aviation veterans concerned about the advancement of safety and economic development of Nigeria’s aviation industry through the observance of global best practices. Membership is open to individuals and organizations who share similar values.
