Premium cognac maker Rémy Martin has reintroduced its celebrated VS Supérieur (Very Special Supérieur).

The reimagined blend was unveiled in Lagos , as part of a pan-African launch targeting a new generation of cognac lovers.





First created in 2014, Very Special Supérieur is produced exclusively from grapes grown in Petite Champagne, the prized heart of France’s Cognac region.

For a richer, more complex character, they say the spirit is aged at least three years in French oak casks, longer than a traditional VS.

Calling the comeback “the renaissance of a historic label,” Cellar Master Baptiste Loiseau said he reworked the original recipe for today’s modern palate. Designed for a bold, vibrant social lifestyle from house parties to nightclubs, the drink is versatile enough to be enjoyed neat, on ice, or in a long cocktail with pineapple, sparkling fruit juice, lemonade or tonic.

“Rémy Martin VS Supérieur represents a bold step forward, honouring our rich heritage while embracing the vibrant lifestyle of South Africa and Nigeria,” said Svetlana Naumova, Managing Director for Africa, the Middle East, India and CIS.


Mr Loiseau highlighted complete distillation on the lees, a signature of the House of Rémy Martin, which gives the cognac its distinctive freshness, silkier texture and long, memorable finish. The Petite Champagne vineyards, known for their chalky soils and ideal climate, produce eaux-de-vie of exceptional quality, key to the blend’s aromatic depth.

Founded in 1724, Rémy Martin continues to craft Fine Champagne cognacs that appeal to discerning palates worldwide, including XO, Tercet, 1738 Accord Royal, Club and V.S.O.P.
