Keyamo  Receives Pioneer Airlines Team  .......As Bayelsa State Owned Carrier Set For Take Off The  Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo  has received the management team of Bayelsa State owned carrier, Pioneer Airlines following the successful issuance of the airline’s Air Operator Certificate (AOC).   ANAP decries  attack on airport staff by military personnel    The Association of Nigeria Aviation Professionals (ANAP) has condemned what it described  as the continuous assault on civilian airport workers by personnel of the Nigerian Air Force. The body is calling for urgent measures to halt the recurring incidents at airports across the country. In a statement issued by its Deputy Secretary General, Comrade Ocheme Aba, ANAP said the latest incident occurred on May 11, 2026, at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, where the Head of Operations of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mr. Ekene Enechukwu, was allegedly assaulted by an Air Force personnel at a checkpoint near the airport toll gate. The association said Mr. Enechukwu, a Deputy General Manager, was responding to an emergency fire alert when he was reportedly misjudged due to his hurried movement.   NCAA  mulls flyer identity registration, certification for drone operators The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), has concluded plans to carry out flyer identity registration and certification for operators of drone in the country. The flyer identity programme according to its Director General , Captain Chris Najomo is to create a more conducive environment for advancing the sector seamlessly and enabling safe, secure practice.   NCAA adopts digital platform for technical personnel  applications The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) is migrating from paper applications for technical personnel to a digital platform. The platform would cover technical certification processes such as aircraft registration, airworthiness certification, aircraft maintenance programme approvals, export and import certification of airworthiness, supplemental type certificates and monitoring of airworthiness directives. Speaking yesterday at the unveiling of Modern Personnel Licensing and Certification (MPLC) NCAA Digital Transformation Initiative PEL/MED Stakeholder Engagement, held at the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos, its Director-General Civil Aviation (DGCA), Chris Najomo, said the new regime would become  effective  July 2, 2026.
