  Air Peace explains air  return on Abuja - London flight  Air Peace on Saturday offered clarifications on the circumstances leading to its aircraft making an air return on its Abuja - London , Heathrow flight shortly after the aircraft departed Abuja. According to the airline management, the  aircraft safely returned to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, where it landed without incident. The statement said : " All passengers disembarked safely, and our engineering team is currently conducting the necessary technical inspections and checks on the aircraft. "Passengers affected by the disruption have been provided with hotel accommodation, while alternative travel arrangements are being coordinated to minimize the inconvenience experienced."   NCAA summons Air Peace over flight disruptions on Abuja / Heathrow route  .....Airline offers clarifications Apex civil aviation regulator : Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), has summoned Air Peace to an urgent meeting in  its headquarters in Abuja tomorrow concerning  a number of unexplained disruptions, including complaints received  from passengers on the Heathrow-Abuja flight . According to a statement by the NCAA's Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mr Michael Achimugu, the passengers were rerouted via Gatwick-Lagos-Abuja and left stranded in Lagos because of a reported air return due cracked windshield.  According to the NCAA, the flight  infraction  along with other  cases of delayed refunds, compensations/first needs, has been  activated  by the Consumer Protection Department of the NCAA.  Achimugu said :" We will not tolerate any abandonment of paying passengers.   Keyamo inspects Abuja Airport Access Gates as hybrid payment system begins  The  Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo yesterday  visited the access gates at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, to assess the operational performance of the newly introduced hybrid payment system for vehicles entering the airport. The visit followed the Ministry’s directive restoring the hybrid payment arrangement, allowing both cash and electronic payments, after the earlier suspension of the fully cashless access gate system as directed by Bola Ahmed Tinubu.   NSIB releases report on Arik Air incident  The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has released the preliminary report on its ongoing investigation into the serious incident involving a Boeing 737-700 aircraft with nationality and registration marks 5N-MJF, operated by Arik Air Limited.  FAAN MD Observes Hybrid Toll Payment Rollout at Lagos Airport Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Olubunmi Kuku, has inspected the rollout of the hybrid payment system at the tollgate of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. The inspection followed a similar exercise earlier in the day at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, where the system has already begun operations. Speaking after the inspection, Kuku said the visit was in line with the directive of the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development to implement a hybrid payment approach across airport tollgates. According to her, the system allows travellers to pay using the automated “gold card” cashless method, while still retaining the option of cash and other payment channels to ease the transition.
