  FAAN orders removal of petrol tankers, other vehicles from Airport Road    The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has ordered  the immediate removal of petrol tankers, limousine cabs and other vehicles parked along the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA) Road, describing their unauthorised presence as a security and safety threat around the critical air transport infrastructure. FAAN said it was constrained to issue the notice after a series of communications to the owners of such vehicles, which appear  not to yield the desired results. Its Managing Director / Chief Executive, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku who disclosed at a briefing on Monday to herald activities marking : FAAN Safety Week, said the authority will continue to engage stakeholders on possible causes of conflict and its attendant consequences for the air travel ecosystem.  NDLEA EDO STATE ARRESTS 39 SUSPECTS WITH 2,477.59KG The Edo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended thirty-nine (39) suspected drug traffickers, consisting of twenty-seven (27) males and twelve (12) females, with 2,477.59 Kg of narcotic drugs. The state commander, Dr Mitchell Ofoyeju, stated in Benin City while presenting the operational scorecard for October 2025. Three cannabis sativa farms measuring 6.711192 hectares with an estimated yield of 16,777.98 kg were also destroyed within the period under review. In his report, which covers both drug trafficking and drug demand reduction within the state, Commander Mitchell said that these operations have highlighted the ongoing significant progress recorded in combatting the drug trade in Edo State.  NDLEA , Truck Owners Collaborate to Combat Drug-Induced Accidents The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), in a proactive move to address the rising concern of drug-induced accidents involving heavy-duty trucks in Edo State, has initiated collaboration with the Heavy Duty Truck Owners, Marketers and Suppliers Association (HATOMSA), Edo State Chapter. This followed a courtesy visit to the NDLEA in Benin City led by Chairman Comrade Sarahaisu Musa at the weekend. The visit aimed to foster collaboration between the two organisations in promoting safety and reducing drug abuse among truck operators in the region. NDLEA's Edo State Commander, Dr Mitchell Ofoyeju, expressed grave concerns over the alarming trend of drug-related incidents involving heavy-duty vehicles.
