Emirates partners Uber for seamless  journeys  Emirates and Uber have announced a strategic partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore ways to make journeys more seamless, effortless and rewarding for travellers.  This includes enhancing the on-ground mobility experience for Emirates customers, while offering Skywards members loyalty benefits when using the Uber platform across select markets within the Emirates network. The MoU was signed by Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer and Anabel Diaz Calderon, Vice President and Head of EMEA Mobility at Uber.   Through this partnership, Emirates and Uber will work towards introducing several initiatives to offer travellers more seamless and effortless journeys.  These include; Developing an integrated booking experience  that combines Uber Rides Vouchers with flight bookings for easier airport transfers or in-city rides.  NDLEA EDO STATE COMMAND INTERCEPTS 53,520.80 KG OF DRUGS SEALED SUPERMARKET SELLING ILLICIT DRUGS The Edo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted fifty-three thousand, five hundred and twenty (53,520.80 kg) of drugs with an estimated street value of seven hundred and seventy-seven million (777,000,000) naira. Commander of Narcotics, Mitchell Ofoyeju, made this known during a media meeting with journalists in Benin City to project the half-year operational scorecard of the command.  Air Peace Expands Fleet with Arrival of First Embraer 190 Aircraft Air Peace Limited, Nigeria’s leading airline, has further deepened its operational capacity with the addition of its first Embraer 190 aircraft to its fleet.   NCAA flags off Tinubu's Aviation Upskilling Development Programme  The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), has flagged off the implementation of the Federal Government's National Youth Development  Directive programme as it introduced the Aviation Upskilling Development Programme (AUDP), approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in February 2025. The implementation of the AUDP, follows the approval by Tinubu for a national structure for youth empowerment across Ministries and Agencies. To key into this, the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development has directed agencies under its purview, including the NCAA to align their youth- related efforts with the national framework. Matazu takes new role at ECOWAS Commission as UNDRR expert  The African Centre of Meteorological Application for Development (ACMAD) has congratulated Professor Mansur Matazu on his new appointment at United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) Expert on Early Warning and Disaster Management Operations at the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission.  ACMAD is the WMO Regional Climate Centre for Africa, based in Niamey, Niger Republic. Professor Matazu, who is now based at the ECOWAS Disaster Operations Center in Abuja, Nigeria, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. Prior to his appointment, Professor Matazu served as Expert in Climate Services Applications at ACMAD, where he contributed significantly to the development and implementation of climate services for the benefit of African countries.  His work at ACMAD focused on providing critical climate information and services to support decision-making in various ...
