  NiMet To Unveil 2025 Seasonal Climate Prediction February 4  The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) will on Tuesday, 4th February 2025 present the 2025 Seasonal Climate Prediction (SCP) to the public. The theme this year is ‘The Role of Early Warnings towards a Climate Resilient Aviation Industry for Sustainable Socio-Economic Development’.  NiMet predicts and publishes the expected annual pattern of climatic variables such as rainfall and temperature in Nigeria in the first quarter of each year. This is in pursuance of its mandate of advising the Government and the public on all aspects of weather, climate, and water-related matters.   National Security : Immigration  cautions on emergence of new religious  Sect  .....Group involves in human trafficking , child separation  ....Directs personnel to report, arrests members  The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), has cautioned on the emergence of a new  religious Sect called : ACHAD Life Mission International. According to a circular issued by the NIS headquarters to all directorates, zones ,training institutions and commands, it  request them to be vigilant and report immediately any sign of the sect. It also directed the personnel to carry out   possible arrest of members of the sect and revert accordingly.   AMCON raises alarm over N4 trillion debt   .....Says Arik Air owes N445 billion as options for liquidation on the table  The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), yesterday raised the alarm over the humongous debt totalling N4  trillion it is owed by organisations as non performing loans it inherited from from Nigerian banks saying it will utilize every legitimate instrument at its disposal to recover the monies from companies, including Arik Air and others, which have refused to pay back. The intervention institution said failure to recover such funds from the non - complying debtors could deal a deadly blow on Nigeria;s financial system.  NiMet Holds E-Flight Folder Training For Airlines  The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has organized a two-day training for airline operators on the use of e-flight folder, a web app that manages interactions and delivers flight folders to airlines and pilots electronically.  The request or submission of flight schedules, for both scheduled and non-scheduled, are done seamlessly and electronically. In an instant, the folders are available for the airlines to use. Pilot and user feedback mechanisms are also integrated.  The training which was held in Lagos on the 13th and 14th of January 2025 was aimed at introducing the e-flight folder app by NiMet to the airlines and also to receive their feedback.  The participants acknowledged NiMet for introducing the revolutionary e-flight folder app which they said will help them to better discharge their duties.
