  'Why United Nigeria Airlines aircraft was grounded' United Nigeria airlines has disclosed that its Lagos-Asaba flight, originally scheduled for 6:30am on Thursday, December 19th, was grounded and delayed due to an incident involving an unruly passenger. The airline said the individual physically assaulted a crew member after everyone had boarded and the door of the aircraft was firmly shut. In a statement by the airline, it noted that, “the commotion caused by this passenger lasted a long time and for safety reasons and in accordance with international aviation protocols, the aircraft was grounded, resulting in hours-long delay. Unfortunately, this disruption may have a reverberating effect on other flights across our network and may cause more delay and cancellations. NWIFURU SEEKS NCAA TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR THE CERTIFICATION OF EBONYI STATE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT The Governor of Ebonyi State, Mr. Francis Nwifuru has sought technical support of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) towards certification of the Ebonyi State International Airport. The request made when the governor paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Director-General Civil Aviation, (Ag. DGCA), Capt. Chris Najomo on Monday, December 16, 2024 in his office in Abuja.  During the visit, Governor Nwifuru shared the state’s broader transport master plan, including its vision for the state- of-the-art airport which is to serve Ebonyi, Abia, Benue and part of Cross River States.  The Ag. DGCA, Capt. Najomo, thanked Gov.
