  Airline operators to Tinubu : confirm Najomo as  NCAA director general  The  Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has paid glowing tributes to the Director General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Captain Chris Najomo for the transformation he brought into the regulatory agency since his appointment last year  affirming that it is high time President Bola Tinubu confirmed  him as substantive head of the agency. Vice President of AON, Dr. Allen Onyema and the airline owners’ body spokesman, Professor Obiora Okonkwo said operators have passed a vote of confidence on him.   Forum cautions airlines over anti - union practices  The Joint Aviation Trade Unions’ Forum (JATUF) has issued a warning to airlines and aviation businesses, stating that their refusal to allow workers unionise may lead to significant challenges.  The warning was issued during the 2nd edition of a conference with the theme, Synergy for Safety & Production Management – Labour Collaboration. Unions collectively criticised airlines for denying their workers the right to freedom of association. Despite being allowed under the law, airline management restricts workers from joining unions, which the unions argue is a violation of their rights. This issue was at the forefront of discussions, especially at a recent gathering in Marrakech, Morocco.   NCAA to sanction airlines over sharp practices  The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) said on Tuesday that it has concluded plans to sanction airlines which engage in sharp practices by selling tickets to passengers when they have not met  the conditions required for their aircraft to be airborne. Such practice, the NCAA said, constitutes a breach of its regulations saying it will take any and every step to whip such operators in line. Its Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mr Micheal Achimugu disclosed this yesterday while engaging industry players at the NCAA National Stakeholders Summit in Lagos. Speaking on the theme : "  Achieving Increased Adoption of Digital Technology in Air Travel Customer Complaint Management: The Regulatory Perspective", Achimugu said the authority is getting increasingly worried over infractions committed by carriers to many passengers , who should begin to acknowledge their rights.
