  ICAO Audit: NAMA conducts validation flight Ahead of the International Civil Aviation (ICAO) Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP) expected to commence by the end of the month, the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has conducted validation flights of Instrument Flight Procedures at all the international airports in the country to ensure compliance with ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).  This is just as the agency has rounded off calibration of navigational aids at major airports in the country and commissioned newly installed ones in Maiduguri and Minna airports.  The Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr Tayib Odunowo who made this revelation in a statement said all required documents like Aeronautical Information Publications (AIP), Operation Manuals, MOUs with other agencies including military and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) have been reviewed and forwarded to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Au...

  Lagos Airport Customs command generates N47.24b in six months  The Murtala Muhammed Airport Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ikeja, said on Thursday that it generated N47.24 billion as revenue between January and July 2023, representing 83.24 percent  increase on the N40.35 billion generated in half year 2022. Speaking to journalists in Lagos, the Customs Area Comptroller , MMA, Compt. Muhammed Yusuf, said the unit also intercepted male donkey genitals and dried shark fins worth N1.23billion at the Lagos Airport, which  were on the verge of being exported out of the country to China and Hong Kong respectively. According to him, the male donkey genitals were harvested from Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, by a Chinese, saying donkey as endangered species must be protected from going into extinction.   Plateau State Government, ValueJets Airlines sign MoU on route development  Plateau State Government and ValueJets Airlines  have  signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU ) with ValueJet Airlines  to enable the carrier to  gain a foothold on the Jos-Abuja route.   NCAA demands compliance on  insurance cover for service providers  .....Vows to ground non - complying aircraft  The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has demanded compliance with Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. CARs) 2022 , which prescribes that airlines and other as allied  aviation services providers have valid   mandatory   insurance cover. This directive contained in an All 0perator Letter referenced NCAA/DG/AIR/11/16/369 dated August 11,  2023 addressed to all airlines and allied aviation services providers is  signed by the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Captain Musa Nuhu.
