 NCAA CONGRATULATES  ADEFUNKE ADEYEMI ON RE-ELECTION AS SECRETARY GENERAL OF AFCAC. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has  congratulated Adefunke Adeyemi on her re-election as the Secretary General of the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC).  The regulatory body said her re election is  remarkable achievement;  not only reflects her exceptional leadership but also inspires pride and optimism for the future of African aviation. In a statement the NCAA said :" Adefunke Adeyemi’s re-election is a proud moment for the aviation industry in Africa. We wish her continued success in leading AFCAC and we are confident that our support will contribute to her success."

    Aviation Round Table canvasses policies' review  for  sector's growth  The Aviation Safety Round Table Initiative (ASRTI) has called on the Minister for Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo and other industry stakeholders to review some  policies that erect roadblocks to the growth of the industry.   Emirates officially unveils its first A350 aircraft Emirates has officially unveiled the very first Airbus A350-900 to join its fleet at an exclusive event showcase in Dubai. The event, led by Sir Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline in the presence of His Excellency Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy, was attended by VIP guests, aerospace partners, government officials and dignitaries, members of the media, as well as aviation enthusiasts.   Re-elected NAAE president vows to colloborate with NAMA mgt  The re-elected president of the National Association of Air Traffic Engineers (NAAE) Engr Selzing Miri says, the association will collaborate with the management of the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) for a better working relationship and conducive environment. In his acceptance speech after being sworn in for second term, Miri said he will ensure that training and retraining of engineers in NAMA, provision of working tools, facilities upgrade of systems and funding will be paramount. He noted that with conducive environment, resources and good working relationship with the management, engineers will work beyond expectations adding, that there were a lot of engineers that were hard working but remained limited in terms of performance as a result of non exposure to trainings and lack of facilities.  Nigeria need new radar system, says NAMA Director The Director, Air Traffic Services at the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Mr. Tayo John on Tuesday said the country needs a brand new radar system even as he disclosed that government has started the modernisation of the system but affirmed that the best solution is to acquire new radar for the country. The Director disclosed that in order to maintain efficiency and safety of flight positions across Nigeria, the country’s airspace is well structured and sectorised and backed up with adequate redundancy systems that will be operational in the event of a system failure.   NCAA re- certifies Lagos, Abuja airports  The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), yesterday re- certified the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja. The re- certification came four years after similar exercise was carried out by the apex civil aviation regulatory body.
